CINNAMON APPLESAUCE




I love baking but as a vegan, I always use egg substitutes for mi goodies and one of my favorites is applesauce. Not just that, but as a mom, I am always seeking ways to give my kids treats they will love but making them low in sugar and as healthy as possible.


This is why I learned to make this super easy but tasty healthy homemade applesauce. I always have it on my fried and when my kids want some good treats I have this alternative on hand or even better, I have it at my very spontaneous baking moments (which sometimes happens late enough for the grocery store to be closed, shhh)





INGREDIENTS


8 apples, peeled and cubed 1 1/2 cups of water 1 tsp of lemon juice 2 tsp of maple syrup 1 1/2 tsp of cinnamon 1/4 tsp of salt


INSTRUCTIONS


1. Place all the ingredients on a slow cooker. 2. Cook for 6 hours. 3. Place the apple mixture in a blender and blend. If you want a chunky consistency only blend for a few seconds, but if want a creamy sauce so you can use later for baking, then blend for 2 minutes or so. 4. Place sauce on an airtight container and store it on the fridge. 5. Buen Provecho Ladies! If you don't have a slow cooker, then place ingredients on a large saucepan and cook on very low heat for 90-120 minutes, or until apples and nice and smooth, easy to smash. Then you can continue with steps 3 and 4.
